Children Day Services Easter Seals West Georgia children’s program offers daily therapeutic care Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Children are involved in activities that specifically target areas of growth and development identified using the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System. The therapeutic program follows a curriculum based on learning through play and child directed creative experiences. On a daily basis, children are encouraged to express their needs and wants through verbalizations and/or signing. Development of adaptive/life skills is also of great importance. These skills are fostered through daily repetition of tooth brushing, dressing and undressing, feeding skills, toileting, combing hair, and role-playing. Teachers who are knowledgeable of the children’s skill level and who are continuously documenting their skill attainment facilitate these activities. Occupational, physical and speech therapists assist teachers in ensuring goals are incorporated into the daily activities.
